To date, I have been pretty mellow, no big hair metal. While this isn’t exactly hard rock, it has a beat and some guitars okay?
Rez Band was one of those groups that was militant about doing Jesus stuff. Setting a cromulent standard on the opposite end of the spectrum from Stryper, transparency and authenticity were their calling card. Stu Hess had such classy guitar work, and the Kaisers song writing was so poetic and original. No dead metaphors or religious cliches here. Before forming Resurrection Band, “Shelter” played at my home church for 3 nights in a row. They wanted me to go with them as a roadie. I chose not to.
It’s almost 2009. When this song came out in 1985, the Year “2000“(insert Conan skit audio) was so far away. It went fast. From the album “Between Heaven and Hell”.
Other great cuts include Shadows, Love Comes Down, and Zuid Afrikan.
